The free Room Planner lets you place and adjust items, check obvious conflicts around doors and walkways, and export a plan as a PNG or PDF. Your saved draft stays in your browser. For a single purchase, the Furniture Fit Checker helps you think through the space needed to use a piece, rather than only the space its body occupies.
Room sizes on product listings rarely tell the whole story. A bed frame can be wider than its mattress. A chair needs space to pull out. Wardrobe doors, skirting boards, radiators, and the path from the entrance all matter. Our guides show measured starting points and their compromises so you can test a plan against your own room. A diagram is useful for screening options, but it cannot replace a tape measure or a walk through the space.
How we describe a good fit
We distinguish physical fit from everyday use. A layout can place every rectangle inside the room and still leave an awkward route. Clearance figures are planning targets, not universal safety or accessibility standards. Your body size, mobility needs, door swings, and local requirements may call for more space. Before making a purchase or alteration, check the actual furniture specifications and, when relevant, seek qualified advice.
